North Carolina Map Blog

This blogger was excited to hear recently from someone involved with an archeological dig in Wilmington, NC. That has prompted me to repost, in pdf, this Cape Fear Map Mug post from the now extinct original NC Map Blog. One interesting note in one of the old newspaper articles is a reference to “a map of the river between Wilmington and Fayetteville.” If one makes an assumption that the two mugs were of the same period, this blogger is unaware of a c1800 map specifically of that region. Perhaps it was derived from a map of the state.
